Clinical Indoor Air Quality.

The air inside your Aurora home is 2 to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air. Modern homes are built with tight envelopes to maximize energy efficiency, but this effectively traps volatile organic compounds (VOCs), pathogens, and high humidity indoors. At Aurora HVAC Services, we don't just sell air purifiers; we engineer comprehensive, hospital-grade respiratory environments using three distinct scientific vectors: Filtration, Sterilization, and Humidity Management.

High-MERV Media Filtration.

The standard 1-inch fiberglass filter found in most homes was never designed to clean the air you breathe. Its sole purpose is to prevent large debris from destroying the blower motor. Microscopic particles—pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and bacteria—pass right through it. Conversely, installing a highly restrictive 1-inch "allergen" filter will choke your system's airflow, driving up static pressure. Our solution: we retrofit your ductwork to accommodate 4-inch or 5-inch thick pleated media cabinets rated at MERV 13 to MERV 16. These filters have massively increased surface area via deep pleating, capturing sub-micron particles with near-zero restriction on the system's airflow. They only require changing every 6 to 12 months.

UV-C Germicidal Irradiation.

The dark, damp environment of an evaporator coil is the perfect breeding ground for biological growth—mold, bacteria, and viruses thrive in this environment. We install high-output UV-C germicidal lamps directly over the evaporator coil. UV-C light at 254 nanometers scrambles the DNA of these microorganisms, rendering them sterile and preventing them from colonizing the coil and ductwork. For homes with allergy or asthma sufferers, this is a critical layer of defense. We also offer active bipolar ionization systems that release charged ions into the airstream, actively seeking out and neutralizing airborne pathogens and VOCs throughout the entire home.

Whole-Home Humidity Management.

In the Illinois climate, humidity is a significant concern year-round. Winters bring bone-dry air from forced-air heating, causing respiratory irritation, cracked hardwood floors, and static electricity. Summers bring oppressive humidity that makes your AC work overtime. We integrate whole-home bypass or steam humidifiers for dry winters, and utilize variable-speed AC communication to maximize latent heat (humidity) removal during sticky Illinois summers. Our goal is to maintain your home's relative humidity between 40-55%—the sweet spot for respiratory health and property preservation.
